For twenty years I worked at Random House, starting as a summer intern and becoming an Executive Editor. At Random House I edited books that won or were nominated for nearly every major literary prize and more than twenty New York Times bestsellers, including winners of the Pulitzer Prize in fiction, history, and biography; a winner of the National Book Award in fiction; a winner of the PEN/Faulkner Award; and an Oprah Book Club selection. I was always looking for writers and books that could live at the intersection of winning prizes and becoming bestsellers.
After some time away from editing, in January 2021 I returned to Penguin Random House as Vice President & Executive Editor, the Hogarth Press and Random House. I’m spending much of my time working with the superb team at Hogarth, an imprint originally co-founded by Virginia Woolf in 1917, helping to grow Hogarth’s list and reputation as a publisher of literary talent of the highest quality. I also acquire broadly for Random House, my longtime home as an editor and an author.
